Description	Human Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), Recombinant Recombinant Human Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor is a homodimer, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2 x 119 amino acids and having a total molecular weight of 26, 984 Da. The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to be Met-His-Ser-Asp-Pro. Contains less than 1% dimers and aggregates.

Reconstitution and storage	The lyophilized product, though stable for 3 weeks at room temperature, is best stored at -20C. After reconstitution, short term (up to 1 week) store at 2 to 8C. Long term, add 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at -20C.

Application info	The ED50 as determined by the dose dependent induction of ACHE (acetylcholine esterase) in rat basal forebrain primary septal culture is 50 ng/mL. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
