Protein Function	Adapter protein implicated in the regulation of a large spectrum of both general and specialized signaling pathways. Binds to a large number of partners, usually by recognition of a phosphoserine or phosphothreonine motif. Binding generally results in the modulation of the activity of the binding partner. Negatively regulates the kinase activity of PDPK1.

Description	The 14-3-3 theta/tau (Phospho-Ser232) Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor 14-3-3 theta/tau (Phospho-Ser232) protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of 14-3-3 theta/tau (Phospho-Ser232) in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on 14-3-3 theta/tau (Phospho-Ser232).
Tissue Specificity	Abundantly expressed in brain, heart and pancreas, and at lower levels in kidney and placenta. Up-regulated in the lumbar spinal cord from patients with sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) compared with controls, with highest levels of expression in individuals with predominant lower motor neuron involvement.
