Description	S100A1 produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 114 amino acids (1-94 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 12.6kDa (molecular weight on SDS-PAGE will appear higher). S100A1 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Protein function	Probably acts as a Ca(2+) signal transducer. In response to an increase in intracellular Ca(2+) levels, binds calcium which triggers a conformational change. This conformational change allows interaction of S1001A with specific target proteins, such as TPR-containing proteins, and the modulation of their activity.
Purification	Greater than 90.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
