Description
Epoxide hydrolase is a critical biotransformation enzyme that converts epoxides from the degradation of aromatic compounds to trans-dihydrodiols which can be conjugated and excreted from the body. Epoxide hydrolase functions in both the activation and detoxification of epoxides. Mutations in this gene cause preeclampsia, epoxide hydrolase deficiency or increased epoxide hydrolase activity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene
Formulation
10 mM Tris + pH 8.0 + 0.1% Triton X-100 + 0.002% NaN3. Precaution: Sodium azide is a poisonous and hazardous substance which should be handled by trained staff only.
Storage and Stability
Store at -80C. As with any protein, exposing EPHX1 recombinant protein to repeated freeze/thaw cycles is not recommended. When working with proteins care should be taken to keep recombinant protein at a cool and stable temperature. During shipment, small volumes of EPHX1 recombinant protein will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial. For products with volumes of 200 uL or less, we recommend gently tapping the vial on a hard surface or briefly centrifuging the vial in a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container’s cap.
