Biological Activity	Determined by its ability to agglutinate human red blood cells. The ED50 for the effect is typically 1-7 ug/ml.
Description	Galectin 7 belongs to growing family of evolutionary conserved animal lectins. Galectins consists of beta-galactoside binding lectins that contain homologous carbohydrate recognition domains (CRDs). Galectin has the ability to induce apoptosis of activated T-cells and T-leukaemia cell lines. Other activities include cell differentiation and inhibition activity of CD45 protein phosphatase activity. Galectin also binds beta-galactoside as well as CD45, CD3 and CD4. Recombinant Human Galectin 7 consists of 136 amino acid residues.

Reconstitution	Centrifuge vial prior to opening . First add sterile distilled water to the vial to fully solubilize the protein to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. After complete solubilization of the protein, it can be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Storage and Stability	Store lyophilized protein at -20C to -80C. Reconstituted protein is stable for 1 week at 2-4C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles .
