Specificity:	Recognises mouse CD43 one of the major glycoproteins of thymocytes and T lymphocytes. It has a high content of sialic acid and O-linked carbohydrate groups. CD43 presents carbohydrate lligands to selectins plays a role in lectin binding and is a counter receptor for Siglec-1. CD43 is expressed on T lymphocytes in two predominant glycoforms. In its 115kDa form it is a pan T cell marker whereas in its 130kDa form it is associated with T cell activation. Clone 1B11 specifically recognises the 130kDa glycoform.
