IL-18 Protein, a pro-inflammatory cytokine, crucially participates in epithelial barrier repair and immune response modulation by polarizing T-helper 1 (Th1) cells and natural killer (NK) cells. Upon binding to IL18R1 and IL18RAP receptors, IL-18 forms a signaling ternary complex activating NF-kappa-B, inducing inflammatory mediators. It synergizes with IL-12 to stimulate IFNG synthesis from Th1 cells and NK cells. IL-18 is also involved in transducing inflammation during pyroptosis, with its mature form released through the gasdermin-D (GSDMD) pore. At the plasma membrane, IL-18 forms a ternary complex with IL18R1 and IL18RAP, signaling within the cell. Additionally, IL-18 interacts with the cargo receptor TMED10 for secretion from the cytoplasm to the endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment (ERGIC). IL-18 Protein, Mouse is the recombinant mouse-derived IL-18 protein, expressed by E. coli, with tag free. The total length of IL-18 Protein, Mouse is 157 a.a., with molecular weight of ~19 kDa. |
