Synthetic peptide corresponding to EQKLISEEDL (Myc) conjugated to KLH.

Epitope tags have application in the labeling, isolation and detection of proteins using immunoblotting, Immunoprecipitation and immunostaining techniques. By affinity chromatography, epitope tags can be used to separate recombinant, overexpressed protein from wild-type protein expressed by the host organism. The protein’s biochemical properties seem to not be affected by the tag protein probably due its small size.

The Myc tag is a polypeptide protein corresponding to aa410-419 of human c-Myc (EQKLISEEDL). Can be used in a large variety of assays that require recognition by an antibody

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Dot Blot, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Immunohistochemistry: 1:500-1:2000
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:3000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
