Bio Background |
This gene belongs to the protocadherin gene family, asubfamily of the cadherin superfamily. This gene encodes a proteinwhich contains 6 extracellular cadherin domains, a transmembranedomain and a cytoplasmic tail differing from those of the classicalcadherins. Although its specific function is undetermined, thecadherin-related neuronal receptor is thought to play a role in theestablishment and function of specific cell-cell connections in thebrain. |
