Description
Description Desmin belongs to the type III family of intermediate filaments, a class of cytoskeletal elements. DES gene encodes desmin, a muscle-specific cytoskeletal protein found in smooth, cardiac, and heart muscles. Tidball (1992) found that desmin was codistributed with actin thin filaments within the cellular processes of myotendinous junctions in frog skeletal muscle. DES gene contains 9 exons and spans about 8.4 kb. By in situ hybridization, Viegas-Pequignot et al. (1989) localized the gene to 2q35. Desmin mutation responsible for idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. Catalog Number IW-MA1036 Quantity 9 ml Host Mouse Clone DES-82 Isotype Mouse IgG1 Immunogen Desmin from pig stomach. Purity Purified by the goat anti-mouse IgG affinity chromatography Conjugate Unconjugated Species Reactivity Human, mouse, rat. Not tested in other species. Positive Control Skeletal muscle, cardiac tissue. Cellular Localization Cytoplasmic Form Ready to use solution in PBS with stabilizer and 0.01% sodium azide. No further dilution needed. Serum blocking step should be omitted. Storage Store at 2-8 CC. Do not freeze. Applications IHC-P: Heat induced epitope retrieval is required on formalin fixed paraffin sections. IHC-Tek Epitope Retrieval Solution (IW-1100) is recommended. IHC-Fr: Not tested. ICC: Not tested. Limitations This product is intended for Research Use Only.
