Description
Background
AffiPure™ Normal Human IgG, F(ab')2 fragment antibodies eliminate non-specific binding between Fc portions of antibodies and Fc receptors on cells such as macrophages, dendritic cells, neutrophils, NK cells or B cells. F(ab')2 fragment antibodies are generated by optimal pepsin digestion of the antisera followed by antigen affinity chromatography to eliminate the presence of Fc fragments and whole molecules, as well as leave intact some of the hinge region. F(ab')2 fragments have two antigen-binding F(ab) portions linked by disulfide bonds, and therefore are divalent with a molecular weight of about 110 kDa. F(ab')2 fragments penetrate tissues more efficiently than whole molecules due to their smaller size. This product contains a sufficient quantity of endogenous IgG to block nonspecific binding sites on fixed samples and assay substrates. While most commonly used in flow cytometry this product is useful in other applications such as ELISA, IHC, ICC, Blocking and as a control.
