Background	The HIB19 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with human CD19, a 95kDA type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein also known as B4. It is expressed on all stages of B cell development except for final plasma cells and on follicular dendritic cells. CD19 plays a role in B cell proliferation, activation, and differentiation. It functions as a BCR co-receptor with CD21 and CD81.
