Description	The beta-2 adrenoceptor (ADRB2) is an Adrenergic Receptor expressed in smooth muscle and metabolic tissues. Activation of this receptor induces a decrease in gastrointestinal motility, bronchodilation, vasodilation in skeletal and cardiac muscle, and glycogenolysis in liver. The beta-2 adrenoceptor is also a major lipolytic receptor in human fat cells and may be involved in obesity. Agonists of ADRB2 are most widely used for the treatment of asthma.
