Description	Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a member of the Paramyxoviridae RNA virus family. Infection in the upper respiratory tract is associated with mild illness, while lower respiratory tract infection can cause fever, cough, pneumonia, bronchiolitis and wheezing. Severe lower respiratory tract infection is most common in the very young, the very old and the immunosuppressed. Metapneumovirus is a common cause of respiratory infection. This product is a concentrated source of hMPV A particles and hMPV A proteins.
Product format	Inactivated Pathogen Liquid. PBS without preservatives
Reconstitution and storage	Store at -20°C or -80°C. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Expires 18 months from date of dispatch
Warning	This product has chemically inactivated by standard procedures. However, this material should still be handled as potentially infectious and should be disposed of appropriately.
Preparation	Clarified cell lysate inactivated by 4mM binary ethylinimine treatment. Binary ethylinimine is hydrolysed by addition of sodium thiosulphate to a final concentration of 0.4mM.
