This product is an E. coli-derived recombinant mosaic protein corresponding to the C-terminal T section (amino acids 1051-1076, 1121-1154 and 1162-1190) of the SARS coronavirus spike glycoprotein.
The SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) coronavirus in an enveloped virus containing three outer structural proteins: the membrane (M), the spike (S) and the envelope (E) proteins. The spike glycoprotein mediates membrane fusion to allow viral entry into target cells.
