Also binds to phosphatidylserine-enriched cell surfaces in a receptor-independent manner. Zona pellucida-binding protein which may play a role in gamete interaction. Binds specifically to rotavirus and inhibits its replication.

Mammary epithelial cell surfaces and aortic media. Overexpressed in several carcinomas.
