Protein Function	May play an important role in endothelial cell activation. May act as a nuclear transcription factor that negatively regulates the expression of cardiac genes. Induction seems to be correlated with apoptotic cell death in hepatoma cells.

Description	The ANKRD1 Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor ANKRD1 protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of ANKRD1 in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on ANKRD1.
Tissue Specificity	Mainly expressed in activated vascular endothelial cells. To a lower extent, also expressed in hepatoma cells.
