Wingless-type MMTV integration site family member 3A (WNT3A) is a member of the WNT family. The WNT gene family consists of structurally related genes which encode secreted signaling proteins. WNT is representative of a growing class of multi-functional factors that play a role in both tumorigenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryongensis. WNT3A is a ligand for members of the Frizzled family of seven transmembrane receptors. It shows 96% amino acid identity to Mouse Wnt3A and 84% to Human WNT3.
