Mouse Monoclonal Antibody against Monkey IL-13 Clone QS-13 was produced, in vitro, using serum free medium. IL-13 is an immunoregulatory cytokine produced primarily by activated Th2 cells. It is involved in several stages of B-cell maturation and differentiation. IL-13 up-regulates CD23 and MHC class II expression, and promotes IgE isotype switching of B cells. It down-regulates macrophage activity, thereby inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. IL-13 is critical to the pathogenesis of allergen-induced asthma but operates through mechanisms independent of IgE and eosinophils.
Lyophilized from a 0.2 um membrane filtered solution of PBS + 125 mM trehalose.
Binds with high efficiency to natural rhesus macaque, cynomolgus monkey, pigtailed macaque, Japanese macaque, barbary macaque, lion-tailed macaque, baboon, African green monkey and marmoset IL-13.
Ion exchange chromatography.
Reconstitute the protein by injecting 0.5 ml sterile distilled water.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized product is stable for at least one year at 2-4C (expiration date is indicated on the vial). After reconstitution, the contents can be safely stored at 4C for one month or for one year at -20C. Add 0.02% sodium azide to reconstituted mAb to prevent bacterial growth. Precaution: Sodium azide is a poisonous and hazardous substance which should be handled by trained staff only.
