Description	The mammalian matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) degrade extracellular matrix in physiological and pathological processes. After cleavage of a signal peptide domain of about 20 amino acids, the MMPs are secreted in latent forms. Upon activation, the N-terminal propeptide domain is cleaved to generate the active forms of MMP. MMP-2 (72 kDa type IV collagenase, Gelatinase-A) contain the basic structure of propeptide, catalytic, and hemopexin domains. It is an important proteinase in tissue remodeling.
Formulation	Lyophilized. Contains 0.1% Sodium Azide. Precaution: Sodium Azide is a poisonous and hazardous substance which should be handled by trained staff only.

Reconstitution	Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Reconstitute to 1 mg/mL by adding 200 ul water.
Storage and Stability	Store at 2-4C for short term storage. For longer term, store in working aliquots at -20C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
