Storage Conditions	Lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, but it is recommended to store the lyophilized product desiccated at -20C to -80C. Upon reconstitution, protein should be stored at 2-4C for one week and for future use at -20C to -80C. Add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) as a stabilizer for long term storage. Please note that the addition of any carrier protein into this product may produce unwanted endotoxin. This depends upon the particular application employed. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Description	Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is a mitogenic peptide growth hormone carried in the alpha-granules of platelets and is released when platelets adhere to traumatized tissues. Connective tissue cells near the traumatized region respond by initiating the process of replication. The synthesis of PDGF can be induced by IL-1, IL-6, TNF-alpha, TGF-beta and EGF. Recombinant human PDGF-AA is a non-glycosylated disulfide-linked homodimer, containing two 125 amino acid chains.
Formulation	Recombinant human PDGF-AA is lyophilized with no additives.
Reconstitution	Centrifuge vial prior to opening. When reconstituting the product, gently pipet and wash down the sides of the vial to ensure full recovery of the protein into solution. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized product with sterile water at a concentration of 0.1 mg/mL, which can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
Specificity	1 x 106 IU/mg
Biological Activity	The activity is determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of mouse 3T3 indicator cells and is typically 3-5 ng/mL.
Endotoxin Level	Measured by kinetic LAL analysis and is typically <= 1 EU/ug protein.
