Description	Transforming growth factor betas (TGF Betas) mediate many cell-cell interactions that occur during embryonic development. Three TGF Betas have been identified in mammals. TGF Beta 1, TGF Beta 2 and TGF Beta 3 are each synthesized as precursor proteins that are very similar in that each is cleaved to yield a 112 amino acid polypeptide that remains associated with the latent portion of the molecule. The TGF-b 1 (aa 177-391) is purified by standard chromatographic techniques and shows a 51 kDa band on SDS-PAGE (including GST tag).
Formulation	The protein solution contains 50 mM Tris-Acetate, pH-7.5 + 1 mM EDTA and 20% Glycerol.
Storage and Stability	TGF-beta 1 although stable at 4C for 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -18C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please note that the addition of any carrier protein into this product may produce unwanted endotoxin. This depends upon the particular application employed.
