Manufacturer - Applications
The ED50, as determined by the stimulation of IFN-gamma production by NK-cells, co-stimulated with IL-18 is less than 1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific, activity of >1 x 106 IU/mg. Each laboratory should determine an, optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other, applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not, necessarily be excluded.
Storage Conditions
The lyophilized product, though stable, for 3 weeks at room temperature, is best stored at –20°C. After reconstitution, short term (up to 1 week) store at 2-8oC. Long term, add 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at –20°C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Full name
Interleukin 12A (Natural Killer Cell Stimulatory Factor 1, Cytotoxic Lymphocyte Maturation Factor 1, P35)
Product Overview
Recombinant, Human IL-12 is a glycosylated disulfide linked heterodimeric polypeptide, containing 503 amino acids and having a molecular weight of 75kDa comprised, of disulfide-bonded 35kDa (p35) and 40kDa (p40) subunits. The sequence of the, first five N-terminal amino acids was determined to be Arg-Asn-Leu-Pro-Val at, the p35 subunit and Ile-Trp-Glu-Leu-Lys at the p40 subunit. Contains less, than 1% dimers and aggregates.

Antigen Description
Interleukin-12, subunit alpha, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IL12A gene. This gene encodes a, subunit of a cytokine that acts on T and natural killer cells, and has a, broad array of biological activities. The cytokine is a disulfide-linked, heterodimer composed of the 35-kD subunit encoded by this gene, and a 40-kD, subunit that is a member of the cytokine receptor family. This cytokine is, required for the T-cell-independent induction of interferon (IFN)-gamma, and, is important for the differentiation of both Th1 and Th2 cells. The responses, of lymphocytes to this cytokine are mediated by the activator of, transcription protein STAT4. Nitric oxide synthase 2A (NOS2A/NOS2) is found, to be required for the signaling process of this cytokine in innate immunity.
