Product Overview	Recombinant Human Platelet Derived Growth Factor-BB, wasexpressed in E. coli. is a potent mitogen for a wide range of cell typesincluding fibroblasts, smooth muscle and connective tissue. PDGF, which iscomposed of a dimer of two chains termed the A chain and B chain, can bepresent as AA or BB homodimers or as an AB heterodimer. Human PDGFB is a24.3kDa disulfide-linked homodimer of 2 B chains (218 total amino acids).

Antigen Description	Platelet-derivedgrowth factor subunit B is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PDGFBgene.The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the platelet-derivedgrowth factor family. The four members of this family are mitogenic factorsfor cells of mesenchymal origin and are characterized by a motif of eightcysteines. This gene product can exist either as a homodimer (PDGF-BB) or asa heterodimer with the platelet-derived growth factor alpha polypeptide(PDGF-AB), where the dimers are connected by disulfide bonds.
