PTF1A is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that contains one basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain. PTF1A interacts with RBP-L protein and a common type I bHLH protein to form the pancreas transcription factor (PTF1). It is present in the dorsal neural tube of early stage embryos, an embryonic structure that gives rise to the dorsal horn of the spinal cord in the mature animal. PTF1A plays a fundamental role in exocrine and endocrine pancreas development in mice. GenScript, PTF1A Antibody, is developed in rabbit using a KLH-coupled synthetic peptide within residues 280–330 of human PTF1A (Swiss Prot: Q7RTS3).
