Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G from tissue culture supernatant

Specifically recognizes human AID (Activation-induced cytidine deaminase) a 24kDa RNA-editing enzyme essential for the initiation of immunoglobulin class switch recombination (CSR) somatic hypermutation (SHM) and gene conversion (GC). Studies suggest that AID is selectively expressed by germinal centre (GC) B cells and B cell-derived lymphomas and that a deficiency in AID is responsible for the autosomal recessive form of the immunodeficient condition Hyper-IgM syndrome.
