GWB-304D1D
Antigen Specificity:
Polyclonal antibody produced in rabbits immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of Human MCM3.
ELISA Titre:

Category:
Cell Cycle Proteins
Note:
Suggested starting concentrations are provided. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end-user. Differences in calculated versus apparent molecular weight may be due to post-translational modifications or protein hydrophobicity. Function:
Acts as a factor that allows the DNA to undergo a single round of replication per cell cycle. Required for DNA replication and cell proliferation.
Subcellular Location:
Nucleus.
Ptm:
Phosphorylated upon DNA damage probably by ATM or ATR.
Miscellaneous:
Associated with the replication-specific DNA polymerase alpha.
Similarity:
Belongs to the MCM family.
Similarity:
Contains 1 MCM domain. Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is one of the highly conserved mini-chromosome maintenance proteins (MCM) that are involved in the initiation of eukaryotic genome replication. The hexameric protein complex formed by MCM proteins is a key component of the pre-replication complex (pre_RC) and may be involved in the formation of replication forks and in the recruitment of other DNA replication related proteins. This protein is a subunit of the protein complex that consists of MCM2-7. It has been shown to interact directly with MCM5/CDC46. This protein also interacts with and thus is acetlyated by MCM3AP a chromatin-associated acetyltransferase. The acetylation of this protein inhibits the initiation of DNA replication and cell cycle progression. Shukla. A. . (2005) Biochem. Biophys. Res. Commun. 329 (4). 1240-1245.
