Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 1 -14 of mouse PPAR delta.
Specificity:
Recognizes mouse Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta (PPARD) also known as Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor beta (PPARB) a 52. 2kDa transcription factor belonging to the nuclear hormone receptor (NR1) family. PPARD is vital in the regulation of cellular differentiation development and metabolism PPARD is involved in the regulation of lipid metabolism and also acts as a receptor for the thiazolidinedione based drugs. Studies have indicated that PPARD mediates a variety of biological processes and maybe involved in the development of a number of disease states such as colorectal cancer diabetes atherosclerosis and obesity. PPARD is ubiquitously expressed with highest levels being found in the placenta and skeletal muscle. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: Sheep Anti Rabbit IgGGoat Anti Rabbit IgG (Fc)Goat Anti Rabbit IgG (H/L)
Function:
Ligand-activated transcription factor. Receptor that binds peroxisome proliferators such as hypolipidemic drugs and fatty acids. Has a preference for poly-unsaturated fatty acids such as gamma-linoleic acid and eicosapentanoic acid. Once activated by a ligand the receptor binds to promoter elements of target genes. Regulates the peroxisomal beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids. Functions as transcription activator for the acyl-CoA oxidase gene. Decreases expression of NPC1L1 once activated by a ligand By similarity. Subunit structureHeterodimer with the retinoid X receptor. Subcellular locationNucleus. Tissue specificityHeart adrenal and intestine. Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR1 subfamily. Contains 1 nuclear receptor DNA-binding domain. Sequence cautionThe sequence AAA03332. 1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. 1. Honer W. G. et al.
