Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF) the product of activated monocytes is secreted by macrophages in response to inflammation infection and cancer (1). TNF triggers a signaling cascade converging on the activation of the transcription factor NF-kappa B which forms the basis for numerous physiological and pathological processes (2).
