A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human Neurofilament M was used as an immunogen.

These neuron-specific filaments are the major constituents of the axonal cytoskeleton (1). NFs are composed of three major proteins; NF-H NF-M and NF-L and the ratio of each protein changes during neuronal development.
