Lyophilized from 50mM NH4HCO3 pH 8. 0Applications Notes : Biological activity of Mouse Leptin is performed in two different mouse obesity models ob/ob and NZO. Both strains of mice were treated via intraperitoneal injection once daily at a dose of 5ug Leptin/gram body weight for a period of 14 days. Significant effects on body weight food consumption and plasma glucose levels were observed to saline-treated controls. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.

May function as part of a signaling pathway that acts to regulate the size of the body fat depot. An increase in the level of LEP may act directly or indirectly on the CNS to inhibit food intake and/or regulate energy expenditure as part of a homeostatic mechanism to maintain constancy of the adipose mass.
