Target	FUNCTION: Forms a water-specific channel that provides the plasma membranes of red cells and kidney proximal tubules with high permeability to water, thereby permitting water to move in the direction of an osmotic gradient. Tissue specificity: Expressed in a number of tissues including erythrocytes, renal tubules, retinal pigment epithelium, heart, lung, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas. Weakly expressed in brain, placenta and liver. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Spcs X-react.	Human, rat, mouse. Other species not yet tested.
Applications info	IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 10000 is recommended for WB and 1 : 2000 for IHC-P. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Storage	Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
