Background	PLA2G7 is a secretedprotein that mediates PAF activity by specifically catalyzing hydrolysis ofthe "sn2" ester bond, resulting in the conversion of PAF to the biologicallyinactive lyso-PAF. PLA2G7 can also interact with LDL particles to induce thehydrolysis of LDL associated, oxidized phospholipids, generatinglysophosphatidylcholine (lyso-PC) and other lysophospholipids.
