Nicotinate Phosphoribosyltransferase (NAPRTase) is involved in the biological processes of pyridine nucleotide biosynthesis and nicotinate nucleotide salvage and functions by catalyzing the conversion of nicotinic acid (NA) to NA mononucleotide (NaMN). It is a crucial factor in the NAD+ biosynthesis pathway.

Catalytic activity:
B-nicotinate D-ribonucleotide + diphosphate = nicotinate + 5-phospho-alpha-D-ribose 1-diphosphate.

Biological Activity:
~0.8U/mg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that synthesizes 1umol nicotinic acid mononucleotide (NaMN) per min.

Storage and Stability:
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
