Immunogen
Highly purified R-Phycoerythrin from the seaweed gracilaria.
Specificity
Recognizes R-Phycoerythrin. Assay by IEP resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-goat serum and R-Phycoerythrin conjugated IgG. Cross-reactivity: B-Phycoerythrin. Reactivity with other phycobiliproteins is unknown.
Description
R-Phycoerythrin (240kD) is a labile molecule that may dissociate into components upon exposure to reducing or denaturing agents. Reaction with low molecular fragments is typically noted by Western Blot.

Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Dot Blot, Immunoperoxidase electron microscopy, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:300, 000
Western Blot: 1:2000-1:10, 000
Immunohistochemistry: 1:500-1:2000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. HRP conjugates are sensitive to light.
