Rat brain microtubule-associated proteins

MAP2 is a major microtubule associated protein of brain tissue. MAP2 promotes microtubule assembly and interacts with neurofilaments, actin and other elements of the cytoskeleton. At least 4 isoforms have been identified arising from alternative splicing.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (formalin, acetone, paraffin): 1-2ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
