Partial recombinant human Musashi 1 protein (1-87) with a GST tag.

Musashi 1 is an RNA binding protein that regulates the expression of target mRNAs at the translational level. It contains two conserved tandem RNA recognition motifs. It binds RNA containing the sequence 5\'-GUUAGUUAGUUAGUU-3\' and other sequences containing the pattern 5\'-[GA]U(1-3)AGU-3\'. It may play a role in the proliferation and maintenance of stem cells in the cenral nervous system. It is detected in fetal kidney, brain, liver ad lung, and in adult brain and pancreas. It is also detected in hepatoma cell lines.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry: 3ug/ml
Immunofluorescence:10ug/ml
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. Aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
