Bacterially expressed fusion protein corresponding to aa1-317 of mouse RANKL.

RANKL (OPGL, ODF, Trance, Receptor Activator of NFkB Ligand) is a recently identified member of tumor necrosis factor family. TRANCE (TNF-related activation-induced cytokine receptor) or RANKL {receptor activator of NF-kB (RANK) ligand} has been implicated in interactions between T cells and dendritic cells. RANK ligand (RANKL/TRANCE) binds to RANK on dendritic cells, upregulates the expression of anti-apoptotic protein BcL-XL suggesting a role in dendritic cell survival. TRANCE/RANKL is also important in T- and B-cell maturation. As OPGL/ODF (Osteoprotegerin Ligand/Osteoclast differentiation factor), the same protein can both activate mature osteoclasts and mediate osteoclastogenesis. OPGL/TRANCE deficient mice show severe osteoporesis and complete absence of osteoclasts as a result of lack of osteogenesis.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1-5ug/ml Requires HIER using sodium citrate buffer pH6.0
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
