Partial sequence of recombinant full-length protein to corresponding to internal region of human STAT3.

In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases. They then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. STAT3 is activated through phosphorylation in response to various cytokines and growth factors including IFNs, EGF, IL5, IL6, HGF, LIF and BMP2. STAT3 mediates cell growth and apoptosis. The small GTPase Rac1 has been shown to bind and regulate the acitvity of this protein. PIAS3 is a specific inhibitor of STAT3. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilutions:
Flow Cytometry: 0.5-2ug/ml
Western Blot: 0.2-2ug/ml
Immunoprecipitation: 100-500ug/sample
Immunocytochemistry: 2-100ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
