Human myelin basic protein.

MBP is a 304 amino acid ~33kD abundant component of the myelin membrane. There are 6 potential isoforms of MBP generated by alternative splicing, 4 of which lack the N-terminal region containing the immunogen sequence.

Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot.. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry: frozen and paraffin
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Hybridoma:
Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.

Positive Control:
Brain

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
