Unit Definition:
One unit of the enzyme incorporates I nmole dTTP into acid-precipitable material in 10 minutes at 37°C, using poly (A): oligo dT as a template:primer.

Quality Control:
Nonspecific Endonuclease/Nickase Activity: None detected after 14-16 hour incubation of 100units of enzyme with 300ng of supercoiled plasmid DNA, analyzed on agarose gel.
Exonuclease Activity: None detected after 14-16 hour incubation of 100units of enzyme with 40ng of 32P-labeled Sau3A fragments of pUC19, analyzed by PAGE.
Protease Activity: None detected after 14-16 hour incubation of 1200units of enzyme with 1ug of protease substrate, analyzed by fluorescence.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge` the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
