Storage Conditions
The lyophilized antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody can be stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months from date of receipt. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for at least four weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted antibody, aseptically aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles. No detectable loss of activity was observed after six months.
Product Description
Leptin is a neuroendocrine hormone secreted from adipose tissue that plays a key role in regulating energy intake and energy expenditure, including appetite and metabolism. Leptin is one of the most important adipose derived hormones.1 It interacts with six types of receptors and once it binds to OB-Receptor it activates the stat3, which is phosphorylated and travels to the nucleus to effect changes in gene expression. One of the main effects on gene expression is the down-regulation of the expression of endocannabinoids.2 High leptin levels are associated with psoriasis.3

Other Applications Reported In Literature
Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections: This antibody should give satisfactory staining results when used on frozen sections at a concentration of 5-15 µg/ml.
Neutralization: This antibody is useful for neutralization of Mouse Leptin bioactivity. The antibody dose required to neutralize 50% (ND50) of the biological activity of Mouse Leptin (at 2.5 ng/ml) is 0.05-0.3 µg/ml.

Manufacturer - Specificity
Rabbit Anti-Mouse Leptin recognizes Mouse Leptin. This antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody was purified using a proprietary chromatographic technique that includes covalently immobilizing the antigen proteins or peptides to agarose based beads. This purification method enhances specificity, reduces nonspecific binding of extraneous IgG and provides you with the most reliable reagent available for your early discovery research.
