Manufacturer - Specificity	Anti-Protein Kinase C (PKC) recognizes the intact (Mr 79-80 kDa) calcium-activated, phospholipid-dependent Protein Kinase C in bovine brain. The antibody strongly cross-reacts with PKC in human, mouse and rat cells.¹ Anti-PKC (clone MC5) binds to an epitope at the hinge region of the enzyme, the site of phorbol-ester-induced proteolysis which is thought to down-regulate PKC activity in intact cells.^{1, 2} Monoclonal MC5 reacts with PKC-α/ß₁/ß₂ isoforms.
