Storage Conditions
The lyophilized antibody can be stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C for up to twelve months. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for at least four weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted antibody, aseptically aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. No detectable loss of activity was observed after six months.
Product Description
TNF-α is a 17.5 kD protein that mediates inflammation and immunity caused by the invasion of viruses, bacteria, and parasites by initiating a cascade of cytokines that increase vascular permeability, thus bringing macrophages and neutrophils to the site of infection. TNF-α secreted by the macrophage causes the blood to clot which provides containment of the infection. TNF-α binding to surface receptors brings about various biologic activities that include cytolysis and cytostasis of many tumor cell lines In vitro, hemorraghic necrosis of tumors In vivo, increased fibroblast proliferation, and enhanced chemotaxis and phagocytosis in neutrophils.

Other Applications Reported In Literature
Neutralization:Measured by its ability to neutralize TNF‑ alpha -induced cytotoxicity in the PK‑15 porcine kidney epithelial cell line. Matthews, N. and M. L. Neale (1987) in Lymphokines and Interferons, A Practical Approach. Clemens, M. J. et al. (eds): IRL Press. 221; Bertoni et al. (1993) J. Immunol. Meth. 160:267. The Neutralization Dose (ND50) is typically 0.015-0.06 µg/mL in the presence of 0.05 ng/mL Recombinant Porcine TNF‑ alpha and 1 µg/mL actinomycin D.
