Protein Function	Catalyzes the first step in leukotriene biosynthesis, and thereby plays a role in inflammatory processes.
Subcellular Localization	Cytoplasm. Nucleus matrix. Nucleus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Shuttles between cytoplasm and nucleus. Found exclusively in the nucleus, when phosphorylated on Ser-272. Calcium binding promotes translocation from the cytosol and the nuclear matrix to the nuclear envelope and membrane association.
Description	The ALOX5 (Phospho-Ser271) Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor ALOX5 (Phospho-Ser271) protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of ALOX5 (Phospho-Ser271) in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on ALOX5 (Phospho-Ser271).
