Description	Rabbit Anti-Human Active Caspase 6 Affinity Purified polyclonal antibody. The caspase family of cysteine proteases has been shown to play a key role in apoptosis. Similar to other caspases, caspase 6 is synthesized as an inactive pro-enzyme that is processed in cells undergoing apoptosis. Together with caspase 3, caspase 6 is one of the major caspases in apoptotic cells, and functions downstream of apoptosis inhibitors BCL2 and BCL-xL. Caspase 6 has also been shown to be involved in the proteolysis of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) and nuclear lamin A.
Formulation	Liquid in PBS, pH 7.2 + 30% glycerol + 0.5% BSA + 0.01% thimerosal. Precaution: Thimerosal is a poisonous and hazardous substance which should be handled by trained staff only.
Immunogen	Synthetic peptide surrounding amion acids mapping to the C-terminus of the large fragment of human Caspase 6
Purification	Biospecific affinity chromatography
Storage and Stability	Store at -20C or in working aliquots at -80C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity	Detects the large subunit (18 kDa) of the active Caspase 6. Does not recognize other caspases.
