Storage Conditions	Lyophilized product is very stable at -20C. Reconstituted material should be aliquoted and frozen at -20C. It is recommended that a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is added for long term storage. Please note that the addition of any carrier protein into this product may produce unwanted endotoxin. This depends upon the particular application employed. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Description	Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is a mitogenic peptide growth hormone carried in the alpha-granules of platelets and is released when platelets adhere to traumatized tissues. Connective tissue cells near the traumatized region respond by initiating the process of replication. The synthesis of PDGF can be induced by IL-1, IL-6, TNF-alpha, TGF-beta and EGF. Recombinant mouse PDGF-BB is a non-glycosylated, disulfide-linked homodimer, containing two 109 amino acids chains
Formulation	Recombinant mouse PDGF-BB is lyophilized from 10 mM sodium citrate, pH 3.0.
Reconstitution	Centrifuge vial before opening. When reconstituting the product, gently pipet and wash down the sides of the vial to ensure full recovery of the protein into solution. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized product with sterile water at a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml, which can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
Biological Activity	Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The activity as measured by the dose-dependent proliferation in mouse 3T3 fibroblasts is 0.2-0.3 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level	Measured by kinetic LAL analysis and is typically <= 1 EU/ug protein.
