Alias peptide/RP11755-Vanilloid_Receptor_Subtype_1_VR1, VR1 is widely distributed in the skin, e.g. in nociception and neurogenic inflammation. VR1 is a capsaicin-receptor homologue with a high threshold for noxious heat.
