Genway ID:
GWB-DFF85C
Antigen Specificity:
Polyclonal antibody produced in rabbits immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of Human KCNK10.
ELISA Titre:
1:62500
Category:
Signaling Intermediates
Note:
Suggested starting concentrations are provided. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end-user. Differences in calculated versus apparent molecular weight may be due to post-translational modifications or protein hydrophobicity. KCNK10 is one of the members of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins containing two pore-forming P domains. The message for this gene is highly expressed in the kidney and pancreas. This channel is an open rectifier which primarily passes outward
Function:
Outward rectifying potassium channel. Produces rapidly activating and non-inactivating outward rectifier K(+) currents. Activated by arachidonic acid and other naturally occurring unsaturated free fatty acids.
Subcellular Location:
Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein (Potential).
Tissue Specificity:
Abundantly expressed in pancreas and kidney and to a lower level in brain testis colon and small intestine. Isoform b is strongly expressed in kidney (primarily in the proximal tubule) and pancreas whereas isoform c is abundantly expressed in brain.
Similarity:
Belongs to the two pore domain potassium channel (TC 1. A. 1. 8) family [view classification]. Summary: This protein is one of the members of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins containing two pore-forming P domains. The message for this gene is highly expressed in the kidney and pancreas. This channel is an open rectifier which primarily passes outward current under physiological K+ concentrations. The protein is stimulated strongly by arachidonic acid and to a lesser degree by membrane stretching intracellular acidification and general anaesthetics. Three transcript variants have been identified for this gene. Gu. W. . et al. . (2002) J. Physiol. (Lond. ) 539 (PT 3). 657-668.
