Description	Glycerol Tridecanoate is an orally active precursor (DA precursor) of caprylic acid that can be hydrolyzed to caprylic acid. It is a major component of medium chain triglycerides (MCT) and has antiandrogenic and antihyperglycemic properties. It can be used as an additive in food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

Bioactivity	Glycerol Tridecanoate is also known as triacylglycerols or triacylglycerides. The triglycerides are rebuilt in the blood from their fragments and become constituents of lipoproteins, which deliver the fatty acids to and from fat cells among other functions. Various tissues can release free fatty acids and take them up as a source of energy.
